Driving Directions to Taos Ski Valley

Taos is full of fascinating places to see. We strongly encourage our guests to drive their own vehicle or rent a car from a neighboring airport (Albuquerque) and drive to Taos. With a car you'll have the luxury to explore the historic sites of New Mexico, browse art galleries, and prepare your kitchenette with food from the local groceries.

From the town of Taos:
From the town of Taos, follow NM 64 for 5 miles north of the Plaza to the last traffic light (Conocao on the left). Turn right onto NM 150 and proceed 15 miles to the entrance of Taos Ski Valley. Drive through the ski valley parking lot to the far right, southeastern corner. Turn right onto Thunderbird Road, you will see Alpine Village Suites on the right.

From Albuquerque:
I-25 to Santa Fe; exit on 599 north to by-pass Santa Fe; Hwy. 285 to Hwy. 68 through the town of Taos to Hwy. 150. Take a right onto 150, continue until the road dead-ends in Taos Ski Valley.

From Arizona:
I-40 to Albuquerque; I-25 to Santa Fe; Hwy. 285 to Hwy. 68 through the town of Taos to Hwy. 150. Take a right onto 150, continue until the road dead-ends in Taos Ski Valley.

From Crested Butte, Colorado:
Hwy. 135 to Gunnison; Hwy. 50 to Hwy. 285 to Hwy. 17 to Alamosa; Hwy. 285 to Tres Piedras; Hwy. 64 to Hwy. 150. Go straight through the light onto 150, continue until the road dead-ends in Taos Ski Valley.

From Denver, Colorado:
I-25 South to Walsenburg; Hwy. 160 to Fort Garland; Left on Hwy. 159, which turns into Hwy. 522. Take a left onto Hwy. 150, continue until the road dead-ends in Taos Ski Valley.

From Durango, Colorado:
Hwy. 160 to Pagosa Springs; Hwy. 84 to Chama; Hwy. 17 to Antonito; Hwy. 285 to Tres Piedras; Hwy. 64 to Hwy. 150. Go straight through the light onto 150, continue until the road dead-ends in Taos Ski Valley.

From Vail, Colorado:
I-70 to Copper Mountain; Hwy. 91 to Leadville; Hwy. 24 and Hwy. 17 to Alamosa; Hwy. 285 to Tres Piedras; Hwy. 64 to Hwy. 150. Go straight through the light onto 150, continue until the road dead-ends in Taos Ski Valley.

From West Texas:
I-40 to Clines Corners; Hwy. 285 to I-25 to Santa Fe; Hwy. 285 to Hwy. 68 through the town of Taos to Hwy. 150. Take a right onto 150, continue until the road dead-ends in Taos Ski Valley.

Frequent daily and weekend shuttle bus service operates between the Albuquerque airport, Taos and Taos Ski Valley. Travel time is approximately three hours from Albuquerque. Schedules are available from the following companies:

*The Chili Line is the public transportation system from the Town of Taos to Taos Ski Valley. The shuttle runs several times per day during the ski season.
